Municipal Review - KTD Monastery

MDRA as the Planning Consultant to the Town of Woodstock, NY assisted the Planning Board and Town Planner in reviewing the plans and environmental impact documents for the expansion of North American seat of the Karma Triyana Dharmachakra Tibetan Budhist Karmapa. The new building would adjoin the central temple and include accommodations for guests and staff, dining facilities office space, a school of higher philosophy, a larger library, additional shrines, and sacred art and statues to complement those found in the central temple. The project was controversial in terms of its size and location. The environmental review and approvals of the Planning Board were contested and appealed in Court. Rulings upheld the Town Planning Boards determinations and approvals.
